The present invention relates to a real-time verification method of STN using high frequency background activity (HFBA) and a DBS operation method using the same. The HFBA of the present invention is subthalamic nucleus (STN) -specific. The background activity separation of the present invention also eliminates artifacts and spikes using a frequency cutoff ( 1,000 Hz) and an amplitude threshold (40-50 μV) To calculate the power spectral density. Furthermore, in the present invention, it is possible to measure HFBA in a real-time using a short time of not more than 1 second. Thus, the method of the present invention not only provides more objective, rapid, and effective information during DBS surgery, but also significantly improves medical results.
