The present invention relates to a method for calculating the correlation coefficient of a magnetotelluric induced current using a geomagnetic disturbance time interval and the data of observations on an induced current over a certain level, comprising: a step (1) of calculating a geomagnetic disturbance time interval when geomagnetic disturbance takes place; a step (2) of extracting a value at or higher than a specific level from the data of observations on an induced current, collected in the geomagnetic disturbance time interval; a step (3) of accumulating the data of observations on a magnetic field obtained at the same time as the data of observations on an induced current at or higher than a certain level extracted in the step (2) in the geomagnetic disturbance time interval calculated in the step (1); and a step (4) of calculating the correlation coefficient of an induced current using the data of observations on a magnetic field and the data of observations on an induced current of the same time, accumulated in the step (3). According to the present invention, the method for calculating the correlation coefficient of an induced current minimizes an error in the conventional estimate of an induced current and accurately calculates the estimate of an induced current in different substation regions.
