The present invention relates to a method for producing a compact hydrogen separation membrane, in which remaining surface pores of a hydrogen separation membrane are removed by a press method. More specifically, the present invention relates to a hydrogen separation membrane which exhibits an excellent hydrogen selectivity compared to a conventional technique and excellent reproducing properties and productivity even when large surface area compact hydrogen separation film is produced, by removing surface pores of the hydrogen separation membrane through a press technique, and to a method for producing the same. According to the present invention, the press method can is performed without regard to the kind and size of a porous support or a hydrogen-separated palladium alloy, and is not affected by a dry or wet producing method of a hydrogen separation layer. Moreover, irrespective of the surface porosity, surface maximum pore size, fine structure, and thickness of the hydrogen separation membrane, a compact hydrogen separation layer can be produced through a press method by controlling compression load, so a production process is simple and effective. Reproducing properties, recycling properties, and economical feasibility are excellent to be easily generally used, and production yield of the large area compact hydrogen separation membrane can be maximized. Furthermore, along with the compacted surface of the hydrogen separation membrane, the decreased thickness of the separation membrane caused by compression of the process, an open boundary surface, and an alloy composition of maximum hydrogen separation are maintained, so selectivity and transmittancy of the hydrogen separation membrane can be simultaneously improved. Accordingly, the hydrogen separation membrane according to the present invention can be widely applied not only to the hydrogen refining field but also to the hydrogen separating field.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
