The present invention relates to: a method for manufacturing a diatomite-based support used for a water treatment filter; a diatomite-based support used for a water treatment filter manufactured by the same method for manufacturing a diatomite-based support; a method for manufacturing a water treatment ceramic filter including a step of forming a nanoporous coating layer on the surface of the diatomite-based support; and a water treatment ceramic filter manufactured by the same method for manufacturing a water treatment ceramic filter. The method for manufacturing a diatomite-based support used for a water treatment filter includes the steps of: (a) preparing raw material powder including diatomite powder; (b) manufacturing a molded product using the raw material powder obtained in step (a); and (c) forming a new three-dimensional pore network in which particles of diatomite power are connected to each other by sintering the molded body at 1100-1250°C. According to the method for manufacturing the diatomite-based support used for a water treatment filter, the support used for a water treatment filter can be economically manufactured by using diatomite, which is a natural material and includes alumino slilicate that is inexpensive compared to alumina used for the prior ceramic filter support.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
