The invention relates to a dry-type transformer coil (10, 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 56), comprising a hollow cylindrical coil having at least one radial inner winding (12) and one radial outer winding (14). Provided on the radially outer surface of the coil is a barrier structure which runs around at least part of the circumference and extends at least over the axial length of the coil, said barrier structure comprising at least one layer of strips (16) of an insulating material and at least one barrier wall (18) supported radially thereby, wherein the radially outermost barrier wall (18) comprises an electric shield (20, 42, 58, 60, 62). The invention also relates to a dry-type transformer, comprising a transformer core having at least two core legs, wherein there is arranged around each of the at least two core legs (26) a dry-type transformer coil (10, 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 56) according to the invention, the respective electric shield (20, 42, 58, 60, 62) of which is connected to ground potential (24, 44, 64).
