Provided is an iron-scale inhibitor that exhibits low corrosive properties towards steel material in a high-temperature area and high heat stability in high-temperature conditions, and that inhibits iron scale in a steam generating facility. The iron-scale inhibitor is configured so as to contain a polymethacrylate and/or a salt thereof, and a 2-acrylanmido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid-acrylic acid copolymer and/or a salt thereof. It is preferred that the iron-scale inhibitor is configured so as to contain the polymethacrylate and/or the salt thereof, and the copolymer and/or the salt thereof at a mass ratio of 1:1-10:1.
