The invention relates to a method and device for detecting and recording at least one emotional event and the environmental conditions in an individual's environment before, during and after the emotional event for subsequent analysis, with low power consumption requirements. The method comprises: selectively powering at least one electrodermal activity sensor (6), at least one temperature sensor (8) and at least one movement sensor or accelerometer (10), and continuously powering at least one device (2) for capturing ambient sound, at least one element (9) for the storage of permanent data, a programmable integrated plate (13) and a buffer or temporary memory (11), using a power source (4); recording and storing electrodermal activity, ambient sound, and the temperature and movement of the user; configuring normal conditions for user movement, temperature and electrodermal activity variables, according to the measurements recorded in the previous step; detecting at least one emotional event and activating the permanent data storage element (9) in order to record at least electrodermal activity, temperature, movement and audio; transmitting the data stored by the permanent data storage element (9) to an information storage, processing and display device; analysing the data and associating emotional events with audio recordings.
