PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stimulation-responsive compound and a stimulation-responsive compound polymer having a high deformation rate and capable of deforming with directivity, and to provide an actuator using the polymer, and a production method of a stimulation-responsive compound.;SOLUTION: The stimulation-responsive compound includes bithiophene, two 1,3-benzodithiolyl groups coupled to an α-position of the bithiophene, and two liquid crystalline functional groups having liquid crystallinity coupled to a β-position of the bithiophene. The liquid crystalline functional groups include a polymerizable functional group. The polymerizable functional group is preferably a vinyl group or an acryl group.
