PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assumption machine that can easily assume a pathological state of a subject without any professional knowledge.SOLUTION: An assumption machine AM is provided, comprising: an extracting unit EU for extracting, out of the information indicating physiology of a subject, a first information indicating physiological state of the subject and a second information indicating at least either of the subject's emotion or organic activity; a calculation unit CU for obtaining a resemblance level that the first information and the second information thus extracted indicate in a time change, and calculating a deviation amount from a prescribed state where homeostasis in the subject is maintained on the basis of the obtained resemblance level; and an assumption unit AU for assuming a pathological state of the subject on the basis of the calculated deviation amount.
