PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a ceramic metal halide lamp which makes possible to increase the mechanical strength of a seal portion of a tubule part of a discharge container, and to further increase the corrosion resistance of the seal portion.;SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a ceramic metal halide lamp comprises the step of forming a frit mold including silicon oxide, dysprosium oxide and aluminum oxide so that the content of the silicon oxide is given by X(SiO2)=37-51 mol%, and X(SiO2)+X(Dy2O3)+X(Al2O3)=100 mol% (where X(Dy2O3)≥5 mol%, and X(Al2O3)≥10 mol%), provided that the content of the silicon oxide is represented by X(SiO2) mol%, the content of the dysprosium oxide is represented by X(Dy2O3) mol%, and the content of the aluminum oxide is represented by X(Al2O3) mol%. The method further comprises the step of forming a seal portion including a sealant crystallized like arborization between a tubule part and an electrode system by heating and then cooling the frit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
