The method involves modeling a human being present in an area of a building as a thermal source (alpha 2R). A model (63) of thermal behavior of the area is obtained, where the model includes a first sub-model characterizing thermal inertia of the area, a second sub-model characterizing the thermal contribution of a heating or air-conditioning device present in the area, and a third sub-model characterizing the thermal contribution of a human being present in the area. The model is temporally cut to consider influence of the sub-models according to periods of a day. An independent claim is also included for a thermal control system for an area of a building.
