Method for correcting level of assistance to electric power steering of car, involves detecting dynamics of steering wheel angle, and applying variable gain on base reference current, which depends on dynamics of steering wheel angle
The method involves providing assistance force by an electric motor to a steering column according to the speed (74) of a car and a torque (76) applied by a driver on a steering wheel, so as to establish a base reference current (72) for the electric motor. A detection of dynamics of a steering wheel angle (52) is performed, and a variable gain (78) is applied on the base reference current, which depends on the dynamics of the steering wheel angle. The variable gain is multiplied by the base reference current to obtain a final current. An independent claim is also included for a system for monitoring an electric power steering of a car.
