The method involves forecasting a beginning (t all debut) of a temporal beach of ignition according to a set of initial conditions. A physical parameter (PRGC) is measured in a combustion chamber. A reference variable (PRGC f der) is calculated according to a signal corresponding to the physical parameter. Ignition of mixture of propellants is determined when the reference variable has reached a predetermined threshold after beginning of the temporal beach of ignition. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for detection of ignition of a mixture of propellants (2) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for detection of ignition of a mixture of propellants (3) a data storage medium comprising instructions for performing the method for detection of ignition of a mixture of propellants.
