The method involves converting panchromatic image (PpowerHR) on a first geometrical scale of a multispectral image, and calculating color density of an image corresponding to a ratio between the multispectral image and the panchromatic image converted on the geometrical scale of the multispectral image. The color density image is converted on a second geometrical scale i.e. target geometric scale. The panchromatic image and the color density image are merged to produce the multispectral image with high spatial resolution. An independent claim is also included for a computer program comprising program code instructions for executing a method for synthesizing high spatial resolution multispectral image from panchromatic images.
