The method involves identifying defect e.g. crack, without a preliminary step of pre-heating a metal part i.e. high pressure turbine blade (10), of a turboshaft engine, and providing a generator that is utilized for generating pulsated current that flows through a pulsated wire. The defect is subjected to heat treatment to optimize mechanical characteristics of the metal part. The metal part is machined to identify a contour of the defect.
