The apparatus comprises a semiconductor chip that includes a secure partition (100) configured for processing a media signal comprising a mobile pay TV transmission signal. A secure element is configured for performing a key management scheme to one of a DRM. The secure element is operatively connected with the semiconductor chip through a secure cryptographic channel. The secure partition is attached to the secure element with a symmetrical or certificate-based bond during manufacture of the device. An independent claim is included for a system.
