The device (1) has an attaching unit (2) attached at a vertical attachment surface (3). An armrest device (7) is rigidly and immovably arranged opposite to the vertical attachment surface. A boundary wall (14) comprises a retention portion (16) bent in an upper end region (15) toward the attachment surface. A forearm in a receiving space (10) is secured in a horizontally force component (17) against uncontrolled slipping out, so that a retention of a standing position of a user is facilitated by the supporting function of the device.
