The method involves installing indicators e.g. magnets, Divots or painted patterns, or marks on a force platform. Location of applied forces on space coordinates of the indicators or marks is determined during calibration of the force platform. The space coordinates of the indicators or marks are measured. The space coordinates are used to transform locations of the applied forces to a coordinate system outside the force platform. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a force platform (2) an alignment tool.
