Friction clutch set arrangement for use in automatic transmission of motor vehicle, has friction plate comprising opposite surfaces provided with friction material and defining sine waves that are displaced at angle by radius lines
The arrangement (40) has an inner hub with an outer surface that defines axially extending outer wedges (42), and an outer element comprising an inner surface that defines axial extending inner wedges. A reaction plate (46) comprises inner wedges (44) that are engaged with the outer wedges. A friction plate (48) comprises opposite surfaces provided with friction material. The friction plate defines sine waves that are displaced at an angle by radius lines. An actuator presses the plate and transfers torque from the inner hub to the outer element, where the plates are engaged with one another.
