The device (20) has a bar code reading device (85), a camera (86), an image signal processing unit (87) and an RFID reading device (88) that are utilized for receiving information about identity of medical parts. A data processing device (92) and a data base (94) are utilized for determining the medical parts with a coupling mode, where the coupling mode comprises an identity of the medical parts that are associated with coupling points (21-23). A sound generator (27) and three light signal sources (81-84) produce a viewable, audible or sensible instruction signal to the medical parts. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for configuring a medical system from a medical device and medical facilities (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to execute a method for configuring a medical system from a medical device and medical facilities.
