Producing a preform (3) from a flat and planar fiber semi-finished product (1), comprises (a) preparing a sheared fiber semi-finished product (2) from the flat and planar semi-finished fiber product by complete shearing of the flat and planar fiber semi-finished product and (b) producing the preform from the completely sheared fiber semi-finished product in step (a) by molding the completely sheared fiber semi-finished product. The preform comprises at least partially multiple bent component geometry of a fiber composite component, which is to be produced.
