The system (100) has a controller (101) for sending a control command to a parser (102) and receiving a status report from the parser. The parser parses a video stream according to the control command and sends a parsed result to a decoder (103). The decoder decodes the parsed result. The parser performs a saturating operation or a default operation when detecting a slight error during the parsing. A data register stores an error type list containing the slight error and the serious error to be queried by the parser.
