Method for supporting the authenticity checking of thin planar value document e.g. banknote, involves evaluating topographical image on presence of specific patterns by applying algorithm to infer the authenticity of value document
The method involves laying a value document (10) on a touch-sensitive capacitive display (2) so that a three-dimensional relief structure (13) is placed on the display surface (21). The top side facing away from the document is contacted by user (1) on contact surface (5). The capacitance changes caused by contact with the display, is detected. A topographical image of the capacitance changes is created. The topographical image is evaluated on the presence of specific patterns by applying the algorithm to image to infer the properties or authenticity of the value document. An independent claim is included for a test device.
