Schweller for car body, has schweller reinforcement element comprising access port that provides entrance to connection region for producing connection between inner hollow section portion and body support element
The schweller has an outer hollow section portion (3) turned to an exterior (10) of a car, and an inner hollow section portion (4) facing an interior (11) of the car. A schweller reinforcement element (40) is secured and arranged within the inner hollow section portion. A body support element is connected with the inner hollow section portion at a connection region (70). The reinforcement element comprises an access port (43), which provides an entrance to the connection region for producing connection between the inner hollow section portion and the body support element. The outer hollow section portion and the inner hollow section portion are made of aluminum. The schweller reinforcement element is made of sheet steel and carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
