Device for time-delayed ignition of solid fuel for e.g. chimney oven, has fuel stage provided with ignition flame which is spaced apart for duration of delay from to-be-ignited solid fuel in fuel stage
The device has a delay determining primary fuel stage (1) in which an ignition flame (4) is fed by a fuel substrate. The delay is controlled based on the used amount of the fuel substrate. The encroachment of the ignition flame on a secondary fuel stage (2) is provided by the burn-off of a portion of the fuel substrate, while leading to the to-be-ignited solid fuel (20). The ignition flame is spaced apart for the duration of the delay from the to-be-ignited solid fuel in the primary fuel stage, or is shielded from the to-be-ignited solid fuel. An independent claim is included for a method for time-delayed ignition of solid fuel.
