摘要

The method involves determining stationary temperature size gradient in connection with state of combustion in a burner region (12). Model gradients of the temperature size are determined on the basis of energy balance of a fuel-operated heater (10) i.e. vehicle heater. Termination of flame is detected when difference between the model gradient and the gradient is greater than gradient difference threshold, and the gradient is negative. Operating frequency of a fuel metering pump (14) is represented as fuel delivery rate.
