The method involves approaching the optical detection device of the moving object to the stop provided with a stop associated graphic pattern to detect the generation of an output signal which is used as a locating criterion. The optical detection unit is applied to a vehicle control device or a vehicle door control unit or a platform screen door control device. The sensor arrangement is provided for detecting light/dark in the side portion below the vehicle door. An independent claim is included for device increasing positioning accuracy of moving object to predetermined stop point.
