The method involves inserting a centering pin (5) in a hole (4), and guiding an insertion pin into the hole with respect to the centering pin by a mounting tool. The centering pin is pulling out from the hole and the insertion pin is inserted into the hole. The centering pin is inserted into the hole by a top face, where withdrawal of the centering pin takes place simultaneously with the insertion pin. The centering pin is connected with a counter-holder (2). The hole is centered to a longitudinal axis (7). An independent claim is also included for an assembly device.
