The alarm device (1) has a system clock (3) that determines the system time (4) of a fire alarm device. A battery (2) is provided for generating electric voltage, and for supplying generated voltage to the fire alarm device. A measuring device (6) measures the electrical voltage, and produces measured values. An evaluation device (7) evaluates the measured values in conjunction with system time as a function of the temporal average value curve having a starting time point to establish a functional period. A control device (8) is provided to control a signal transmitter (9).
