The method involves determining displacement information by comparing projection images (3) and comparison images (8) or comparison coordinates for different points for comparison in a spatially-resolved projection surface. Corrected projection images are determined by applying geometric errors describing the displacement information to distortion of the original projection images with respect to a salient structure located in an intermediate image record (6) in a corresponding projection direction. The displacement information is a displacement vector field. The projection images are X-ray projection images. The salient structures are both anatomical markers. An independent claim is also included for an X-ray device.
