The method involves classifying fuel to be injected in different fuel classes (24-1- 24-5) with different viscosities. A reason correction factor (25) is determined based on injector temperature (23) present during engine start. A correction factor (31) is imaged during heating an engine over a time course of a ramp based on the correction factor. Viscosity of the fuel to be injected is determined based on a close duration of a quiescent state of a magnetic valve, which is moved by fuel, where the close duration of the quiescent state is measured with a trigger. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining a correction factor for correction of a time course of a fuel injection into an engine of a motor car.
