Method for controlling vacuum pump of e.g. motor car, involves providing control device to estimate temperature of vacuum pump based on available data and temperature model of vacuum pump and to control pump based on estimated temperature
The method involves providing a control device (5) for diagnosing and controlling a vacuum pump (1). The control device is adapted to estimate temperature of the vacuum pump based on available data (8, 9) and a temperature model (10) of the vacuum pump. The control device is adapted to control the vacuum pump based on the estimated temperature. The data of the pump is based on duty cycle, switching off duration, rotation speed, delivery pressure, capacity, thermal behavior as function of time, mass of the pump and thermal capacity of the pump.
