Method for representing depth values on marine chart for navigation in marine vessel, involves performing masking for depth values including larger value than overlapped depth values, and displaying chart with depth values in current scales
The method involves providing a digital marine chart (4) on a display device i.e. navigation screen (1) of a marine vessel. Depth values of the chart are detected. Current scales of representation are detected. The depth values, which overlap with the adjacent depth values in the current scales, are masked. Masking for the depth values, which include a larger value than the overlapped depth values, is performed for determining the depth values to be represented. The marine chart with the depth values to be represented is displayed on the display device in the current scales. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control unit (2) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for representing depth values on a marine chart (3) a computer program product comprising instructions for performing a method for representing depth values on a marine chart.
