The method involves performing experimental determination of a deformation of semi-finished fiber product sample (1) along a thickness direction (6) outside a plane of main fibers by using a measurement device (2) during manufacturing of a sample of fiber reinforced composite element from the sample infiltrated with a matrix resin. An elongation parameter is determined from the deformation. The deformation is calculated according to a shape of the composite element and the parameter by a calculation unit (7) during manufacturing of the composite element.
