The method involves acquiring an image sequence of a subject (7) i.e. person, and an interaction object i.e. roof rail (6), and determining spatial coordinate of the subject and the object by a sensor (2). A mathematical model of the characteristic values of the subject is determined from movement of the subject in the image sequence or from a time sequence of spatial coordinates of the subject. An activity module and activity block property are determined based on the characteristic values of the subject in connection with a position, velocity, acceleration, type and property of the object. An independent claim is also included for a device for automated analysis of a production process for a motor vehicle.
