The supercharger (10) has a rotor (12) that is rotated with a rotational shaft (16) in a rotational axis (14). The turbine wheel (20) and compressor wheel (24) are torque-proof connected with the shaft. An air bearing unit (26) is arranged for axial mounting of rotor on housing element (28). An electromotor (40) is provided for driving rotor. A transmission unit (46) is coupled with shaft in the axial direction and integrated into the respective impeller back portions, for transferring the axial forces resulting gas forces on air bearing unit from compressor side and turbine side.
