The device has a stationary inert gas pipe system (5) provided with inert gas nozzles (6) in a risk region of a bearing system (01). The pipe system comprises a connection coupler at a front surface of the bearing system for an inert gas inlet (7). Inert gas is supplied via a connection tube by a mobile fire extinguishing agent unit. A smoke inlet system is provided in a specific position for a fire detection smoke detector (8). A fire-extinguishing technique (11) is utilized with a bearing system technique (10) in an active electric composite for fire fighting favorable auxiliary functions. An independent claim is also included for a method for implementing a fire-extinguishing process for a technical bearing system.
