Forging roller for forging or stretching of fiber material strand i.e. filter tow material, in stretching device of tobacco processing industry, has base body provided with outer surface and made of material i.e. aluminum
The roller has a base body (2) provided with a cylindrical outer surface (4a). A coating is applied on the outer surface of the base body. Material e.g. nickel and ceride, of the coating exhibits high hardness than material of the base body. The coating comprises an inner layer on the base body and an outer layer resting on the inner layer. Thickness of the outer layer amounts to about 6-8 micrometer. The coating exhibits thickness of maximum about 30 micrometer. The base body is made of material i.e. aluminum, according to EN755-2-ENAW6082. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a roller.
