The converter (100) has a converter input shaft (110), and a hydrostatic variator (120) comprising a variator input shaft (123) and a variator output shaft (126). An electric machine (130) i.e. current generator, has a rotatably supported rotor (131) and a rotatably supported stator (132). The converter input shaft is connected with the variator input shaft and the rotor in a driving manner. The variator output shaft is connected with the stator in a driving manner. The variator has two hydraulic machines (121, 122) that are hydraulically connected with a hydraulic passage (124). The variator is designed as an opened or closed hydraulic circuit.
