The device (1) has an inverter unit (8) that is provided with a control unit (12) connected to a power meter (17) for measuring in a public power network (3). A security circuit (34) is provided with a primary switch unit (30) and a secondary switch unit (31). The control unit is configured to switch the primary and secondary switch units in case of failure of public power network into a separating state, and to switch the inverter unit into a voltage led mode to connect the emergency power supply connected over the secondary switch unit with consumers (5).
