The system (B) has cameras for providing image data that is statistically evaluated and didactically processed for counting persons, where bandwidth-dynamic data exchange is carried out between a terminal (A) and a data center (C) after identification of the persons through optical testing based on biometric characteristics. The image data are bandwidth-dynamically transmitted to the data center over a wide area network. Statistical evaluations about biometrically identified persons are combined to statistical statements.
