The present invention relates to a method to control a general home appliance using a network configuring apparatus which communicates with a mobile terminal through a wireless communications network, comprising the steps of: (a) receiving a control signal with respect to a home appliance not supporting a network function from the mobile terminal through a gateway in a state whereby the network configuring apparatus is connected to the gateway through the wireless internet; (b) converting the control signal from the mobile terminal with respect to the home appliance into a control signal for a remote controller corresponding to the home appliance based on a predetermined mapping table; and (c) transmitting the converted control signal to the home appliance through near field communication (NFC).
