PURPOSE: An IPTV receiver, a method for reproducing contents in the IPTV receiver and a method for transmitting contents in an IPTV environment are provided to edit and reproduce important scenes without missing even without a manual process even despite series which take a long to watch. CONSTITUTION: A method for reproducing contents in an IPTV receiver comprises the following steps. Desires series are requested by contents(S301). The requested series and reproduction control information of the series are downloaded(S302). A request related to the reproduction time of the downloaded series is input(S303). Each contents are edited at different ratios and reproduced according to the downloaded reproduction control information to reproduce the series according to the input reproduction time(S305,S306).
