The present invention relates to a preparation method of a medicament for treating facial nerve paralysis containing Dioscoreae Rhizoma, and an extract thereof. In particular, when the medicament containing Dioscoreae Rhizoma powder as an active ingredient is applied to a patient by performing acupuncture, the medicament stimulates and promotes secretion of a nerve regeneration substance. Especially the medicament is involved in the regeneration of a nerve axon and thus can be advantageously used as a treating agent for facial nerve paralysis.
