Disclosed are a nuclear power plant safety grade controller and a method of driving a device in a nuclear power plant safety grade controller, enabling functions, such as the management of processing periods, the management of system resources, and the management of scheduling, related to the driving of all devices to be controlled by a supervisory module which is additionally provided to manage and control the whole devices serving as components. According to one embodiment, the method of driving a device in a nuclear power plant safety grade controller includes the steps of allocating processing time to each essential function for the nuclear power plant safety grade controller; receiving serial interrupt through a user interface; and allocating processing time to a serial processing function related to the serial interrupt by taking the essential function into consideration.
