The present invention relates to a system and method for reconstructing a wide area power outage in an electric power system, which includes: a data acquiring unit for acquiring information data in the electric power system having phase information from monitoring devices in the electric power system; a data analyzing unit for analyzing the information data therein to determine whether power outage occurs and determine the range of which the power outage occurs; and an establishing unit of power outage reconstructing procedure for establishing a power outage reconstructing procedure by checking whether an operating generator is mounted and an interconnection tie path in an external area is able to be connected within the range thereof as a determined result.
