The method involves preparing the hierarchical terrain data set, with different levels of hierarchy of the data. The individual hierarchical levels are provided with different number of cells and having different resolutions. The current camera perspective is determined. The relevant current camera angle cells by top-down traversal of the hierarchy are determined. The cells determined the associated data in the processor of the mobile terminal is loaded in the processor. The identified cells with the associated data are displayed on the display of the mobile terminal.
