Neuromuscular electrical stimulation in intensive care units (ICU) is a very new and extremely promising treatment. Billions of dollars are spent worldwide every year on patients with functional sequelae following admission to an ICU. The results of neuromuscular electrical stimulation treatment in intensive care are promising, but are still incipient and this is due to the lack of suitable equipment for this type of scenario. The Henricus - Intensive Care is a neuromuscular electrical stimulation device that was created to satisfy this demand. Using said equipment, professionals can apply the required dose and detect the moment fatigue begins. Henricus allows currents to be applied that are suitable for the electrical impedance of each area, providing a safe treatment. Operation of this equipment can be completely automated, making the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation viable for ICUs, since professionals can spend less time attending each patient.
