The press (100) has two piston/cylinder units (10a, 10b) utilized for applying necessary press pressure and aligned opposite to each other, where the piston/cylinder units are arranged on a common straight line at fixed pressing stands (3a, 3b). Inner hollow plungers (12a, 12b) are provided at the piston/cylinder units for transferring the pressing force on ends of wheel disks. Mechanical fixing devices (4a, 4b) are detachably engaged at periphery of rods (5a, 5b) and utilized for mechanical longitudinal fixing the rods and a wheel set shaft (RA) in a centering position.
