A method for making a new selection of a route by a central (202, 1500) serving as a Node Mediation Call, CMN, under Protocol Independent Call Control Substrate, BICC, in a call, the method comprising : configure (101) a correspondence relationship between a value of failure cause outgoing path and a designated central; acquiring (102), a processing unit called (1501) in said center, a value of failure cause outgoing route when an outgoing route fails and selecting (103) a selection unit path (1502) of said center, a designated route according to the corresponding relation between the value of failure cause outgoing path and the designated route and setting up a call; the method being characterized in that: when the outgoing route fails before the establishment of a support between a preceding exchange and a next station, the central ceases to serve as a BICC CMN low after selecting the designated route; controlling a multimedia gateway in accordance with this relationship and negotiating the support information respectively with the preceding exchange, the media gateway and the next exchange to establish a call interworking BICC-BICC.
